Scream And Run at 3AM: What the Video Actually Shows
"3AM" is a YouTube title convention, not something we could find inside the game. Here is what the 47,450-view Niz & Rex video actually shows, and how the other Scream And Run uploads titled the same footage.

Don't Play Roblox SCREAM AND RUN at 3AM... — by Niz & Rex · published 4 Sept 2026 · 47,450 views when we read it
01Does a 3AM mechanic exist in Scream And Run?
"3AM" in a title is borrowed from creepypasta and analog-horror YouTube — it promises a witching-hour event without the game itself needing to have one. So we checked: does anything in Scream And Run actually change at 3AM, or at any set time?
Across the six captioned runs we have fact sheets for, none shows an on-screen clock, a day-night cycle, or a mechanic gated by time of day. The only "time" reference in any of the six is modinner describing an outdoor playground as unexpectedly creepy after dark: "Looks like we're going to a playground at night. Who's playing on the slide at night?" That's one player's read of the map's lighting on one run, not a clock the game is tracking.
So the honest answer is: we have not verified any 3AM behaviour in this game. That's different from proving none exists — we have captions for six of the eight Scream And Run videos we pulled, and none of the six shows one.
What would settle it: a developer patch note or store page naming a day-night or timed-event system, or a captioned video that shows an in-game clock, timer, or scripted lighting change tied to real time.
02What the 47,450-view "3AM" video actually shows
The video carrying the "3AM" title is "Don't Play Roblox SCREAM AND RUN at 3AM..." from the channel Niz & Rex, published 2026-09-04 and sitting at 47,450 views when we read it on 6 September 2026. It's a duo run: two players, a private lobby, one recorded run on the school map. Nothing in the session happens at an in-game 3AM — the number in the title isn't represented on screen anywhere.
The stated goal is "I need to find keys in these backpacks to escape." The pair spend the run learning controls as they go: crouch is bound to holding C, flashlight to F, sprinting while holding C turns into a slide, and jump-then-sprint-then-crouch triggers a roll. The exit in this run needs five separate locks filled — "Oh my god, there's so many locks. It's five." The pursuer is played as a Cat in the Hat parody; one player claims it teleports rather than only walking, and it's shown crawling through a tube and crouching into a tight hiding spot to reach a player there.
Five moments carry the run, in order:
- Caught right after spotting the pursuer nearby: "WHAT? GOING TO GET ABDUCTED. I'm about to ascend."
- The pursuer turns out to be directly ahead while searching: "I hear him. He's in front of me. OH WOW. OH MY GOD."
- Caught seconds after picking up a pink key: "As soon as I got the pinky is on me. You can't MAKE THIS UP."
- Found while hiding in a crawl space: "I was in my little hideyhole just crawling and it just crouched down."
- The run's closing beat — lights cut out during a joking bit and the pursuer is revealed behind the player: "The lights go out and then behind me there's a cat with approaching."
What would settle it: a second captioned Niz & Rex run to see whether the missing final key repeats, or a developer response confirming it as a known bug.
03How the run ends
The pursuer also got visibly stuck in a wall for a few seconds mid-run, which the pair treated as a safe window, and one player self-reports being startled about fifteen times over the session: "I'm actually getting jump scared like 15 times today... 15 jump scares by the same cat." The video ends without an escape — the last key never turned up, which the players attribute to a glitch: "We couldn't even find a last key because the game was glitched." None of that is a 3AM system; it's a bug report from one player in one recorded run.
What would settle it: a second captioned Niz & Rex run, or another channel hitting the same wall, to see whether the missing final key is a recurring bug rather than a one-off.
04How the other channels titled the same footage
Of the eight Scream And Run videos in this set, only the Niz & Rex upload puts "3AM" in its title. Here is how the other seven titled the same game, with view counts as we read them on 6 September 2026:
- "ROBLOX SCREAM AND RUN.." — Cruz, 219,007 views
- "AKU DIKEJAR ANOMALI ANEH DI ROBLOX.. DAN HARUS KABUR | SCREAM AND RUN" — modinner, 96,949 views
- "ROBLOX SCREAM AND RUN!!" — steak, 85,147 views
- "SCREAM AND RUN ACTUALLY GOT ME SCREAMING" — TOUGH, 47,518 views
- "ROBLOX SCREAM AND RUN" — Splink, 26,286 views
- "KreekCraft plays Roblox Scream And Run for the first time.." — KreekCraft Hub, 7,532 views (no captions available to us)
- "SCREAM and RUN - School (Cat in the Hat) - Full Walkthrough - Roblox" — The Cringe Kids, 3,045 views (no captions available to us)
05What we have not checked
The picture above comes from six captioned videos out of eight we pulled, and one of those six carries the "3AM" title. That's enough to say we have not verified a time mechanic, not enough to rule one out entirely.
- Whether KreekCraft Hub's or The Cringe Kids' uploads — both uncaptioned — show a clock, timer, or lighting cue we could not read from captions alone.
- Whether the unexplained "hide and seek" lobby option Niz & Rex saw in the menu ties into any time-based mode.
- Whether the missing final key in this run is a repeatable bug or a one-off — we have only the one recorded run.
- Whether dying while holding a key reliably respawns it, as this run showed, or whether that depends on the map — other channels' runs show a carried key dropping instead.
- Whether the pursuer's claimed teleport is an actual scripted ability or a lag spike one player read as a teleport.
What would settle it: watching the two uncaptioned videos directly for on-screen clocks, a developer statement on the key bug, and a second same-map run to check whether the ending repeats.
Frequently asked
Does Scream And Run have a 3AM mode or event?
Not that we have seen. The "3AM" in one video's title is a YouTube hook, not a system shown on screen — none of the six captioned runs we reviewed shows a clock or a time-gated mechanic.
What happens in the Niz & Rex "3AM" Scream And Run video?
Two players run the school map, learn the movement controls as they go, and are chased by a Cat in the Hat parody through five key locks. The run ends without escaping — the final key never spawns, which the players call a glitch.
Why do so many Roblox horror game titles say "3AM"?
It borrows the creepypasta convention that spooky things happen after midnight. Among the eight Scream And Run videos we looked at, only one uses it — the other seven title the same game with no clock claim at all.
Is Scream And Run scarier at night in the game itself?
One player called an outdoor playground area creepy "at night," but that's a description of the map's lighting on one run, not a day-night cycle we have confirmed the game tracks.
