Scream And Run Characters: Every Character, Role and Item

Scream And Run confirms exactly one character, the Cat in the Hat, and almost everything else people search for — skins, classes, a second monster — is either the players' own avatars or a single unconfirmed recording. This hub sorts verified from unverified and points to the deep page for each.

01The two pursuers: the Cat in the Hat

Seen in player footage — the developer's own game description and five of six captioned channels

Scream And Run's Roblox description names exactly one character: the Cat in the Hat, hunting players through a school after dark. That same description lists three modes — Hide And Seek, Free Roam and Escape — and five controls, and mentions no other characters, no classes, no skins and no shop.

Five of six captioned channels show him on camera as the school's pursuer, which lines up with the developer's text. For more on his chase behavior, see the Cat in the Hat page at /guides/the-cat.

02The two pursuers: Thomas the Train

Not known

One recorded run — a channel called TOUGH, at 47,518 views when read on 6 September 2026 — shows a different pursuer in a map called the Mines: Thomas the Train. He starts train-themed, then, in the players' own words from that run, 'grows legs into a spider creature.'

A separate channel, modinner, names the Mines map from the game's menu but never actually plays it, so nobody has corroborated what Thomas does from a second angle; the map itself is confirmed by Roblox's badge list and by both channels. What was recorded is written up on the Thomas page at /guides/thomas.

One recorded run for what Thomas does. The Mines map itself is confirmed — by Roblox's badge list and by two channels — so what would settle this is a second channel playing it and reporting the same pursuer.

03You, the survivor

Seen in player footage — 28,361 words of captions across six channels

The survivors are just the players' own Roblox avatars. Across 28,361 words of captions from six channels, the words class, role, perk, ability, skill, level and xp never appear. 'Skin' and 'character' each appear exactly once, and both times a player is talking about their own avatar, not a game system.

No character-select screen turns up in any run. What a survivor can do is the five published controls: run (Shift), crouch (C), crawl (C), slide (Shift+C) and flashlight (F). One session, Niz & Rex, also pulled off a roll — jump, sprint, crouch — not on the developer's list, and seen in that one run only. Full breakdown on the controls page at /guides/controls.

04The monster role

Seen in player footage — modinner and TOUGH

In Hide And Seek, one player becomes the monster instead of a survivor. Both modinner and TOUGH show this happening. Only TOUGH says the pick is random, and that detail comes from one run, so hold it loosely until another channel repeats it.

More on how it plays is on the play-as-the-Cat page at /guides/play-as-the-cat.

05Items in the school

Seen in player footage — corroborated across two or more channels, with two colours reported by one channel each

The school holds keys in five corroborated colours — green, yellow, red, white and pink — plus two more reported by only one channel each: silver and black. Backpacks can each be searched once, and the flashlight is the F control. A vending machine also gets named on camera.

Colours, backpack mechanics and the vending machine are covered on the keys and backpacks page at /guides/keys-and-backpacks.

06Items in the Mines

Not known

Everything known about Mines items comes from one channel, TOUGH, and nowhere else: a pickaxe, coal, a furnace with a quota to fill, TNT and a lighter. None of it is corroborated by a second channel, which is also why what Thomas the Train does is still an open question rather than a settled one.

Every item here comes from a single channel. Treat this whole list as unconfirmed until a second channel plays the Mines.

07What this game does not have

Inferred — from from the developer's description, which lists no shop, classes or skins, and the absence of those words across 28,361 words of six channels' captions

There is no character roster, no backstories, no skins, no classes, no perks, no shop and no XP system. The developer's own description doesn't mention any of them, and across 28,361 words of captions from six channels, none of those words shows up describing a game mechanic. That absence is the honest answer here, not a gap in this page.

The game also has no purchasable game passes, per a read of Roblox's own game-pass endpoint on 6 September 2026. The one confirmed in-game purchase is a revive: Cruz says 'I can buy revives,' and one player reads the price as 32 Robux, though that reading is one player's account. Lives run three, shown as a heartbeat, with a fourth unlocked by joining the developer's group and liking the game. More on the lives and deaths page at /guides/lives-and-deaths.

08Names that are not characters

Read from Roblox06:17 UTC, 8 Sep 2026

'Overseer' appears 31 times in one channel's captions. It is not a game character — it's the name of a viewer who joined Cruz's run.

Players also bring up Thing One and Thing Two, and the 2003 Cat in the Hat film — but that's players talking, not the game. Nothing from the film appears inside Scream And Run itself beyond the Cat's name. Why players keep making that connection is covered on the 'why Scream And Run' page at /guides/why-scream-and-run.

Frequently asked

Who are the characters in Scream And Run?

The game's own description names one: the Cat in the Hat, who hunts players through a school after dark. One recorded run also shows a second pursuer, Thomas the Train, in the Mines, unconfirmed by a second channel. Beyond the pursuers, the 'characters' are just the players' own Roblox avatars.

Does Scream And Run have skins or classes?

No. The developer's description lists no shop, classes or skins, and across 28,361 words of captions from six channels those words never appear as a game system. You get your own avatar and five controls: run, crouch, crawl, slide and flashlight.

Who is Thomas in Scream And Run?

Thomas the Train is a pursuer seen in one recorded run, in the Mines map. He starts train-themed and, in the players' words, 'grows legs into a spider creature.' No second channel has confirmed him, so treat this as an open lead — see /guides/thomas.

Can you play as the Cat in the Hat?

Yes. In Hide And Seek one player becomes the monster instead of a survivor, shown by two channels, modinner and TOUGH. Only TOUGH says the pick is random, and that detail is from one run only. Details on /guides/play-as-the-cat.
