01The name
Roblox's own data names him in three listings, created between 21:42 UTC on 11 September 2026 and 17:40 UTC the next day: Spawn Another Ronald (200 Robux), Play As Ronald (1 Round) (125 Robux) and the 2x Chance To Play As Ronald game pass (249 Robux). The Play Place badges, created at 01:46 UTC on 11 September, don't name him. Neither does the game's Roblox description, which on 14 September still described only the school and the Cat in the Hat.
On camera, five of the six channels call him "Ronald McDonald", and FusionZGamer, notxeri_ and derek2508 also shorten it to "Ronald". NexqK never names him: "I don't want to have to run from a clown, bro." We use "Ronald" because that is the name in Roblox's listings. None of the Roblox data we read uses the longer name, and nothing on this page suggests any tie to the McDonald's restaurant chain.
02What he looks and sounds like
None of the six runs describes his colours, height or face in words; players react to him rather than narrate him. Two say outright that he reads as a clown. NexqK: "I have a big fear of clowns and I really hate him." ISAIAH PLAYS: "I seen the clown. I just seen the clown."
His movement draws comment. Three channels remark on a crawl or crouch: FusionZGamer ("why do you have a crawling animation?"), JELLYBOLTS ("this dude crawls so creepy") and notxeri_ ("He crouches with his knees bent backwards"). Five mention him jumping, among them FusionZGamer ("He's just jumping around, hopping around up there"), NexqK ("He started jumping") and derek2508, who watches him jumping "under the ground to try to get me" until "His head's phasing through the ground."
Every one of the six runs mentions hearing him at some point. FusionZGamer: "why is he knocking?" JELLYBOLTS: "I heard his footsteps." derek2508: "I hear knocking." NexqK: "I hear his theme." ISAIAH PLAYS, on the chase music: "I hate when the music stops like when he gets like close to you but like not too close." notxeri_'s group: "I hear him, but I don't know where he is." Two channels also say that at other moments they couldn't hear him at all. derek2508: "this man has no audio, no nothing." JELLYBOLTS: "I can't hear him anywhere."
03How he hunts
Four channels say he teleports: "He's teleporting, dude" (FusionZGamer), "He can teleport" (notxeri_), "this dude teleports" (JELLYBOLTS), "he just teleported to me" (derek2508). Four describe him appearing from nowhere. ISAIAH PLAYS: "He just spawned out of nowhere. I was still in the slide." JELLYBOLTS: "Tell me how spawn camping works right there. He just came out of nothing." derek2508: "This thing came out of nowhere." FusionZGamer: "Where does he show up from?"
He can also get hung up. ISAIAH PLAYS, after going up a red slide: "He can't climb. He couldn't climb." derek2508: "He's stuck. He's stuck on thing." notxeri_'s group watches as he "kept on getting stuck and then just walked away."
Two channels expect him at the exit. FusionZGamer at the locks: "We know he's going to spawn behind us. He always does." JELLYBOLTS, afterwards: "as soon as you put the key in, he freaking spawns it."

04Paying to play as Ronald
Roblox lists two paid routes. Play As Ronald (1 Round) is a developer product at 125 Robux. The 2x Chance To Play As Ronald game pass costs 249 Robux and doubles a chance whose base rate Roblox doesn't publish. The Cat in the Hat and Thomas have matching 249-Robux passes and matching 125-Robux one-round products, though Thomas's is named Play As Thomas In Hide And Seek (1 Round). Ronald's names no mode.
The list also carries Spawn Another Ronald at 200 Robux, next to Spawn Another Cat In The Hat and Spawn Another Thomas at the same price. None of the six captioned runs mentions buying any of them.
05Picked as Ronald in one group's video
notxeri_'s video is the only one where players take the part themselves. Before one round: "One of us is going to be the Ronald McDonald." Before another: "let's see who's going to be Ronald this time." One player's guess at the odds: "I got a 50% chance, bro." The captions don't name the mode or say how the pick is made. Once a player is Ronald, what he does is that player's choice, which is why the hunting notes above leave those rounds out.
What would settle it: a second channel recording the pick, with the mode named on screen.
06Ronald compared with the Cat in the Hat
All three pursuers' 2x passes cost the same 249 Robux, so price doesn't rank them. Two players compare Ronald with the Cat in the Hat directly, and they pull different ways. FusionZGamer, during the Play Place half of that video, finds him easier because you can hear him coming: "he's not as completely silent as the Cat in the Hat. Like the cat will just show up and then you're dead. This guy makes like a little footstep noise and random knocks. So, he's a lot better." JELLYBOLTS goes the other way: "This is worse than Cat in the Hat."
Another line from FusionZGamer's video, "He's got the weakest AI out of all of them," comes after the Play Place escape, in the Mines half of the same video. We read it as about the Mines pursuer, not Ronald.
Between the two maps, FusionZGamer also looks around the lobby: "you got the Cat in the Hat holding the door open. You got Ronald up there." That is one channel describing the lobby, not a roster screen.
07What we have not checked
- The base chance of being picked as Ronald that the 2x pass doubles. Roblox doesn't publish it.
- Whether Play As Ronald (1 Round) works in Escape or only in Hide And Seek. Thomas's equivalent names Hide And Seek; Ronald's names no mode.
- Whether FusionZGamer's "two of them" was a bought Spawn Another Ronald or something else.
- Why two channels sometimes can't hear him when every run hears him at other times.
- Whether Ronald appears on any map besides Play Place. Roblox's place list also carries Playpen and Maze, and the names don't say.
- His colours and face. No run describes them in words.
- Whether most players find him scarier or easier than the Cat in the Hat. Two players, two answers.
What would settle it: a recorded pick with the mode named, a run that shows a bought second Ronald, and more players comparing him with the Cat in the Hat.
