Scream And Run Play Place: How to Escape the Third Map
Roblox created two Play Place badges on 11 September 2026, the game's title became Scream And Run [UPD 2] by the 13th, and six captioned runs since then still disagree on how many keys the exit takes. Here is the round as those runs describe it.

01When it appeared
Our collector reads this game's badge list and game details from Roblox every six hours. Its 06:17 UTC reading on 11 September 2026 was the first to log two new badges, You Escaped Play Place and You Escaped Play Place With No Power. Roblox dates both to 01:46 UTC that morning.
The pursuer's name showed up that evening, on two developer products: Spawn Another Ronald (200 Robux, created 21:42 UTC) and Play As Ronald (1 Round) (125 Robux, created 22:13 UTC). The 2x Chance To Play As Ronald game pass (249 Robux) followed at 17:40 UTC on 12 September.
Our 18:17 UTC reading on 12 September still showed the old title; the 00:17 UTC reading on 13 September returned Scream And Run [UPD 2]. The highest five-minute player count in the 24 hours of samples we held on 14 September was 58,678, at 19:00 UTC on 13 September.
The game's Roblox description, read on 14 September, still describes only the school and the Cat in the Hat.
02What the round asks of you
The six runs follow the same loop. Search backpacks for coloured keys. Find a screwdriver. Use it on the panel that keeps a gate shut in front of the exit door. Fit your keys to the locks on the exit. Get out before he catches you.
Backpacks come up in all six runs, five find a screwdriver, and five mention the gate in front of the exit door. Three say out loud that they got out: FusionZGamer ("Yes, I win"), derek2508 ("We finally won") and notxeri_ ("He killed me, but I got out").
03Keys, backpacks and the jump prompt
Keys come out of backpacks, and a bag can come up empty: FusionZGamer reads out "You found nothing" more than once, and notxeri_ asks, "What do you mean I found nothing? Is this random?" Dying costs you what you carry. FusionZGamer: "If I die, I drop them like Sonic rings." notxeri_: "I died with all the keys." derek2508: "I died with the pink key, bro."
Searching can also throw up a quick prompt to jump, which surprises people the first time. ISAIAH PLAYS: "when I was opening up this uh backpack, it showed jump. It said click to jump or something." notxeri_'s group says that when the checks pop up, "it gives you a chance to like skip the uh opening." FusionZGamer gets the same prompt while searching and again while using the screwdriver.
Two more things come up in two runs each: cardboard cutouts of the pursuer that keep fooling people (FusionZGamer and derek2508), and a flashlight that notxeri_ and derek2508 both complain about. notxeri_: "it's not like going where I'm looking."
One run suggests a hiding spot. FusionZGamer, inside a clear plastic dome: "He doesn't realize I'm in a dome." That is one player's read of one chase, and no other run mentions hiding in one.
04Four keys, five or six
The runs do not agree on the number. notxeri_'s group says "We need four keys," later "I got four keys," then "I got all the keys and I got the screwdriver," and gets out.
Others point to five. ISAIAH PLAYS: "And we need five keys." JELLYBOLTS: "You got two keys... we just need three more." FusionZGamer says "I have to use all five keys," counts "1 2 3 4 five" at the door, adds "Six locks. I don't know," and escapes, having guessed earlier in the run, "I think there's six in total."
The colours called out are white, green, red, pink and yellow, the same five the school uses, plus one black key in derek2508's run that nobody else mentions.
What would settle it: a run that counts the locks on the Play Place exit on screen and names each colour as it goes in.
05The screwdriver and the gate
Two runs say plainly what the screwdriver does. notxeri_'s group, stuck outside the locked door, unscrews a panel and shouts, "I think the door's open." Later one of them warns, "wait until you use the screwdriver. It goes dark. It goes like all dark." JELLYBOLTS, at a switch by the gate: "That opened the gate. That opened the gate. But it turned off the freaking lights."
FusionZGamer had heard that "a fuse box somewhere or something" opens the gate, and uses the screwdriver on a fixture tucked in a corner, but the captions don't say what changed. ISAIAH PLAYS never works it out: "I don't know what the screwdriver is for."
Lights also go out when nobody mentions the screwdriver. NexqK: "And the power shut off, too." JELLYBOLTS, before using it: "Why do you turn off the power?"
06How Play Place differs from the school and the Mines
On the school, the exit is five colour-coded padlocks, and this site has no record of a gate in front of it. The Mines, per this site's Mines page, is a coal-and-furnace loop, not a key hunt. Play Place reads like the school's key hunt with one step added: a screwdriver, a panel, and a gate that takes the lights with it. That is our comparison, not the developer's.
Two things in these runs may not be map features. The game sells Spawn Another Ronald (200 Robux), which could explain FusionZGamer's "is there two of them?", and Cause A Thunder Storm (Disables Lights for 2 Min) (100 Robux), which could explain a blackout nobody caused with a screwdriver. No run mentions buying either.
07The badges
Roblox created both Play Place badges on 11 September 2026. At our collector's 06:17 UTC reading on 14 September, You Escaped Play Place was held by 10,562 players with a 0.4% win rate, and You Escaped Play Place With No Power by 17,748 at 0.5%.
At the same reading the other maps ran the other way. The school's no-power badge had 44,099 holders against 647,068 for its plain escape badge, and the Mines' had 12,181 against 264,958. On Play Place, the no-power badge had more holders than the plain one. Nothing in Roblox's data explains it.
08Hide And Seek and Free Roam for Play Place
Roblox's place list for this game includes Play Place Hide And SEek and Play Place FreeRoam (Roblox's spelling), plus Playpen and Maze, whose link to Play Place the names don't show. A listed place is not proof that a mode is open to players.
At the 06:17 UTC reading on 14 September no badge named either Play Place mode, and none of the six captioned runs names them.
09What we have not checked
- Whether the exit takes four keys, five or six.
- Whether there is a black key. One mention, in one run.
- Whether dropped keys can be picked back up after you die.
- Whether the screwdriver is always needed to open the gate.
- What turns the lights off when nobody has used the screwdriver.
- Why Play Place's no-power badge has more holders than its plain escape badge.
- Whether the dome really hides you.
- What Play Place Hide And SEek, Play Place FreeRoam, Playpen and Maze look like. All four names come from Roblox's place list, not footage.
What would settle it: a second batch of captioned Play Place runs that count the exit locks on screen, name every key colour, and open a Hide And Seek or Free Roam round on this map.
Frequently asked
How do you escape Play Place in Scream And Run?
Search backpacks for coloured keys, find a screwdriver, and use it on the panel by the gate in front of the exit door; two runs say that opens the gate and turns the lights off. Then fit your keys to the exit's locks and get out. Runs disagree on whether that takes four keys or five.
How many keys do you need in Play Place?
Unsettled. notxeri_'s group says four and gets out. ISAIAH PLAYS says five, and FusionZGamer counts five keys at the door, says "Six locks. I don't know," and escapes.
Who is the monster in Play Place?
Ronald. Roblox names him on two developer products created on 11 September 2026 and on a game pass created on 12 September. Players call him "Ronald McDonald"; nothing in Roblox's data ties the character to the restaurant chain.
When did Play Place come out in Scream And Run?
Roblox created the two Play Place badges at 01:46 UTC on 11 September 2026, and our 06:17 UTC reading that day was the first to log them. The title became Scream And Run [UPD 2] between our 18:17 UTC reading on 12 September and our 00:17 UTC reading on 13 September.
